India on Saturday named a 22-member squad for the SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship football tournament to be held in Jamshedpur from 15 to 25 March.
India’s head coach Thomas Dennerby said the girls selected for the tournament “pose a bright future for women’s football” in the country.
India will open their campaign against Nepal on 15 March, followed by games against Bangladesh (19 March), Nepal (21 March) and Bangladesh again (25 March).

India in 2018 finished third at Bhutan while in 2021 at Bangladesh, they finished runners-up losing to host nation by 1-0. Bangladesh has won both the editions.
