Indian Women’s team lost to Chinese Taipei 2-1 in Group B match at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, on Thursday.

Anju Tamang gave The Blue Tigresses lead in 47′ while Li-Chin Lai (69‘) and Yu-Hsuan Su (84’) secured all three points for Chinese Taipei.

Indian women’s football team will be next in action against Thailand on Sunday.

The five group winners will advance to the Asian Games 2023 women’s football quarter-finals. The three best runners-up from Groups A, B, D and E will take the remaining quarters spots.

India XI: Shreya Hooda, Sanju Yadav, Ashalata Devi, Sweety Devi, Dalima Chhibber, Sangita Basfore (Astam Oraon 45′), Indumathi Kathiresan, Anju Tamang, Dangmei Grace (Priyangka Devi 75′), Manisha Kalyan (Soumya Guguloth 82′), Bala Devi (Jyoti Chouhan 63′).
