ISL 2020-21 – Hyderabad FC moved to Third Place with a win over Chennaiyin FC

Hyderabad FC defeated Chennaiyin FC 2-0 in the 77th match of Indian Super League (ISL) 2020-21 at Tilak Maidan Stadium. The win strengthened the Nizams’ chances for playoff. In the first leg also they won by 4-1. The intention was clear for Hyderabad FC from the beginning. They dominated the first 45 minutes. Goals at each half from Fran Sandaza in 28’ and Joel Chianese in 82’ were enough for them to secure all three important points. On the other hand Chennaiyin FC showed a much improved performance in the second half and created many chances, but failed to score. Fatkhulo Fatkhulloev effort hit the post while Rahim Ali failed to score from 3 yards. With this loss, Chennaiyin FC remains in sixth place with 16 points. On the other hand, Hyderabad FC moves to third place with 22 points. DHL Winning Pass of the Match Award was bagged by Joao Victor. The Hero of the Match Award won by Asish Rai of Hyderabad FC. In the Next Match ATK Mohun Bagan will face Kerala Blasters. Meanwhile SC East Bengal will lock horn with Bengaluru FC on 2nd February at Tilak Maidan Stadium.
