Mumbai City FC came from behind to beat Kerala Blasters by 2-1 in the 81st match of Indian Super League (ISL) 2020-21 at GMC Stadium, Bambolim.
It was the second match in a row where Kerala Blasters FC has lost after taking a lead. The first half had plenty of action including a goal, missed chances, and some goalkeeping heroics from both teams. But it was Kerala Blasters who took the lead in the 27’ through Vicente Gomez. Bipin Singh with the start of the second half equalized for Mumbai City FC. Despite conceding a goal, Kerala Blasters had more control in the game. However, Adam Le Fondre, after missing many chances gave the lead to Mumbai City FC through penalty in 67’.
Mumbai City FC with this win extended their lead at the top of the table with 33 Points, while Kerala Blasters remained at ninth place with 15 points. Kerala Blasters will face Odisha FC next on the 11th, while Mumbai City FC takes on FC Goa on the 8th.
Winning Pass of the Match Award was bagged by Cy Goddard while Amrinder Singh won the Hero of the Match Award.
In the next match NorthEast United FC takes on FC Goa. Kolkata Giants ATK Mohun Bagan will play against Odisha FC on 6th February while SC East Bengal will lock horn with Jamshedpur FC on 7th February.
