Jamshedpur FC defeated Odisha FC 5-1 to take a major step towards securing the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 Winner’s Shield at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim on Friday.

Daniel Chima Chukwu (23’, 26’) scored a first-half brace to take his season’s tally to nine goals while Paul Ramfangzauva (45+1’) pulled one back for Odsiha FC. However, goals from Ritwik Das (54’), Jordan Murray (71’) and Ishan Pandita (87’) ensured a sixth consecutive win for JFC.

Jamshedpur FC will next face ATK Mohun Bagan and a Draw will ensure them winners of the league stage. While Odisha FC finished their campaign with 23 points.

Daniel Chukwu won the Hero of the Match Award.

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 05, the Hero ISL returns on 5th with a double-header. The first game sees a contest between SC East Bengal and Bengaluru FC while the second game will see Mumbai City FC go up against Hyderabad FC in a must-win situation.
