Jamshedpur FC edge past NorthEast United FC 3-2 and stay one point away from a maiden semi-final berth, in the Indian Super League 2021-22 at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda on Friday.

Seiminlen Doungel (35’) gave Jamshedpur the lead while Greg Stewart (59’) made it 2-0 in the second half. However, in the space of two minutes, Laldanmawia Ralte (59’) and Marcelinho (67’) levelled for NorthEast United FC. Murray (84’) scored the winning goal for Jamshedpur FC.

Jamshedpur FC now have 34 points from 17 matches and will need just one point to ensure a semifinal spot. They have a game in hand to league leaders Hyderabad who have played 18 matches and have 35 in their kitty. For NorthEast United FC, they are rooted to 10th place with 13 points from 19 games.

Ricky Lallawmawma won the Hero of the Match Award.

In the next match, Kerala Blasters FC will take on Chennaiyin FC. Meanwhile, SC East Bengal will face NorthEast United FC at the Tilak Maidan Stadium on Monday.
