Lebanon defeated Bangladesh 2-0 in their opening Group B fixture of the 2023 SAFF Championship at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on Thursday.
Lebanon playing in the SAFF Championship for the first time as one of the two teams invited from outside the region.
For Lebanon, Hassan Maatouk in 79′ and Khalil Bader in 90+6′ scored the goals.
Bangladesh played attacking football as Jamal Bhuyan and Sohel Rana kept the Lebanon defenders on their toes, but could not convert.
