Liverpool rallied after an early scare defeated Villarreal 3-2 and advance to its third UEFA Champions League final in five seasons on Tuesday.
Villarreal took a two-goal lead in the first half to offset its 2-0 first-leg loss in England, but Liverpool came from behind to advance 5-2 on aggregate.
Boulaye Dia (3’) and Francis Coquelin (41’) put Villarreal ahead in first half, while Fabinho (62’), substitute Luis DÃaz (67’) and Sadio Mané (74’) scored in the second half to take Liverpool into the final.
This is the tenth time Liverpool made it to the final of UEFA Champions League. They had won in 1977, 1978, 1981, 1984, 2005, 2019. Finished Runners-up in 1985, 2007, 2018.
