Mohun Bagan SG defeated Punjab FC 3-1 in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Thursday.
Ricky Shabong gave Punjab FC the lead in 12’. However, Alberto Rodiguez’s brace (48’ 69’) and Jamie Maclaren (64’) secured three points for Mohun Bagan SG.
Alberto Rodriguez was also adjudged Key Player of the Match.
Mohun Bagan SG tightened their position on top with 29 points whereas Punjab FC dropped to seventh place with 18 points.
Next, Mohun Bagan SG will host Hyderabad FC on January 2 whereas Punjab FC will face Kerala Blasters FC on January 5.
