Mumbai City FC defeated FC Goa by 2-0 in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim.

Mehtab Singh (35’) headed the Islanders into the lead in the first half and a second was added by Diego Mauricio (86’) late in the game to secure the three points.

The win took Mumbai City FC to fourth place with 31 points from 18 matches while FC Goa remained at ninth place with 18 points from 19 matches.

Mehtab Singh won the Hero of the Match Award.

Mumbai City FC will next play a nail-biting semi-final spot decider with Kerala Blasters FC at the Tilak Maidan Stadium on Wednesday while FC Goa also has a meeting with KBFC in their next at the Athletic Stadium on Sunday.

In the next match, ATK Mohun Bagan will take on Bengaluru FC. Meanwhile, SC East Bengal will face NorthEast United FC at the Tilak Maidan Stadium on Monday.
