Netherlands and Ecuador played a 1-1 draw in Group A match of 2022 FIFA World Cup at Khalifa International Stadium on November 25. The result means, host Qatar becomes the first nation to be eliminated from the 2022 World Cup.
Cody Gakpo gave Netherlands an early lead in 6′ and thus scored the quickest goal of the FIFA World Cup 2022. He surpasses the record set by Australia’s Craig Goodwin, who scored against France in the ninth minute.
In 49′ Enner Valencia equalized for Ecuador. He now scored all six goals for Ecuador in FIFA World Cup and he is the first South American man to achieve such feat.
Ecuador had dominated the match and could have easily got the lead in 59′, but was denied by the bar.
In the last round of Group A match, Netherlands will face Qatar while Ecuador will face Senegal.
Netherlands and Ecuador both have 4 points while Senegal on 3 points after two matches.
