NorthEast United FC came from behind to defeat Bengaluru FC by 2-1 in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda on Friday.

Cleiton Silva gave Bengaluru FC the lead in the 66’ after a barren first half, but two goals in the space of six minutes from Deshorn Brown (74’) and Laldanmawia Ralte (80’) allowed Khalid Jamil’s team to break a 10-game winless run.

NorthEast United FC now have 13 points from 18 matches. SC East Bengal dropped to the bottom of the table, having just 10 points from 17 outings.

BFC, meanwhile, suffered a second straight defeat, remaining at sixth place with 23 points from 17 games.

Joe Zoherliana won the Hero of the Match Award.

In the next match, Kerala Blasters FC will lock horn with ATK Mohun Bagan. Meanwhile, SC East Bengal will next play against Mumbai City FC at the PJN Stadium on Tuesday, February 22.
