NorthEast United FC played a 1-1 draw with FC Goa in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 match at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim on Friday.
Santana curled in a superb free-kick in just the 2’ of the game for NorthEast United FC but Airan Cabrera’s goal in the 39’ helped FC Goa draw level. There were no goals in the second half, but FC Goa looked the more threatening side however the disciplined defense of NorthEast United FC denied them to score anymore.
FCG moved up to eighth place having 13 points from 11 games while NEUFC remained 10th with nine points from 11 games.
Jorge Ortiz won the Hero of the Match Award.
In the next match, ATK Mohun Bagan will lock horn with Bengaluru FC. Meanwhile, SC East Bengal will next face FC Goa on January 19, Wednesday.
