East Bengal FC will face NorthEast United FC at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati in Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23 match on October 20, Thursday. The match is important for both the teams.
East Bengal FC can actually come out with full points if they can exploit the loopholes in NorthEast United FC defence. If Gaurav Bora plays, then chances are supposed to come for the Red & Gold Brigade.
Hopefully East Bengal FC can make use of those. On the other hand, if Gaztanaga and Romain is allowed to play their natural game by EBFC midfield then NUFC will surely get a chance to punish the away team. Imran, William, Rocharzela can come handy for the hosts.
For East Bengal FC Naorem should start in place of Tuhin while Sarthak or Rakip should replace Passi at the right back position. Assuming Lima won’t be available would like to see Sauvik or Mobashir pairing up with Amarjeet as no. 6 and playing the role of double pivot.
Jordan should play the role of attacking midfielder although he is not a natural attacking midfielder but this East Bengal FC don’t even have any at that position. Suhair should be used as a right winger who would cut inside, putting Suhair as a striker is unlikely to yield results as he cannot play with the goalpost at his back because he is not good at turning. Jerry should start as left back.
I would like to see East Bengal FC playing 4-2-3-1 instead of a conventional 4-4-2 with Cleiton in the upfront who can drift towards the flanks to make way for either Suhair or Naorem while build up in the North East United FC defensive third. Would like to see NUFC fielding in Provat Lakra in place of Irshad as right back provided Lakra is fit. Felt that Irshad is not a natural right back and he will struggle at that position. Irshad is more effective as defensive midfielder.
Overall it would be a great opportunity for both host NorthEast United FC and East Bengal FC to get their points table ticking.
