Odisha FC bounced back to defeat Mumbai City FC by 4-2 in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 match at the Tilak Maidan Stadium on Monday.

Aridai Cabrera (4’) scored an early goal against the run of play for Odisha FC but Ahmed Jahouh (11’) quickly brought the game on level for Mumbai City FC with a superb finish. Igor Angulo (38’) then brought Mumbai City FC into the lead before Jerry Mawihmingthanga (70’, 77’) scored a memorable brace to hand the lead back to Odisha FC. Jonathas (89’) then took result beyond Mumbai City FC by scoring the fourth goal for Odisha FC.

The result leaves Mumbai City FC winless in three games. They are still at top of league table with 16 points from 9 matches. Odisha FC moved to seventh place with 13 points from 9 matches.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga won the Hero of the Match Award.

In the next match, Bengaluru FC will face SC East Bengal on January 04.
