Odisha FC defeated Chennaiyin FC 3-2 in a thrilling Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23 match at the Kalinga Stadium here on Thursday.

A 96′ goal from Nandhakumar Sekar clinched the win for Odisha FC after Chennaiyin FC had scored the equaliser in 94′ via an Abdenasser El Khayati’s penalty.

Eralier, Vafa Hakhamaneshi own goal in 31′ gave Odisha FC the lead. Diego Mauricio scored the second goal in 49′. Abdenasser El Khayati then pulled back one for Chennaiyin FC in 60′.

The win lifted Odisha FC from fifth to third spot, level on 15 points with Mumbai City FC. They will face NorthEast United FC on December 2 in same venue. Chennaiyin FC will return to the Marina Arena to host Hyderabad FC on December 3.

Nandhakumar Sekar won the Hero of the Match Award.

Next on Friday, NorthEast United FC will face Mumbai City FC.
