David Alaba and Karim Benzema scored in each half as Real Madrid beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 at Olympic Stadium in Helsinki to win the UEFA Super Cup for a record-equalling fifth time. Barcelona and AC Milan are the other two clubs who had won the trophy five times. Earlier, Real Madrid won Super Cup in 2002, 2014, 2016 and 2017

The semi-automated offside technology made its first appearance in European competition at this match in Helsinki.

It was a particularly memorable evening for Benzema whose goal took him to 324 for the Spanish side, one more than Raul. Only Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 450, has more Real goals than Benzema.
