SC East Bengal and Hyderabad FC played a 1-1 draw in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim on Thursday.
Amir Dervisevic (20′) gave SCEB an early lead against the run of play with a brilliant free-kick but Bartholomew Ogbeche’s (35′) header brought the match level for HFC.
Daniel Chima Chukwu missed a fabulous opportunity to double the lead by sending his shot wide in a one-on-one situation just before the half-hour mark.
SC East Bengal played much better football and were rock solid at the back and created a few chances forward.
Lalrinliana Hnamte won the Hero of the Match Award.
The Nizams extended their unbeaten run to six matches and jumped into second place on the points table, while the Red & Gold Brigade remain winless in eight matches.
In the next match, Odisha FC will meet FC Goa. Meanwhile SC East Bengal will next play against Bengaluru FC on January 04
