SC East Bengal appointed Mridul Banerjee as Team Manager for the Hero Indian Super League 2021-22 season. He will also assist the coaching staff.
Earlier, in 2017 he was appointed as coach of Red & Gold Brigade. However, on the very first day his ankle sprained. Thus his stint with East Bengal came to an end on the very first day.
He had coaching experiences for more than three decades with teams like Mohun Bagan, Mohammedan Sporting, Indian Arrows, India U-16, India U-19 and West Bengal. He has also worked with Delhi Dynamos in Indian Super League.
As a player, he represented various Premier Division clubs in Kolkata in between 1975 to 1988.
