SC East Bengal is considering releasing of players from the current squad before moving to the new base in North Goa.
In the first press conference, Coach Head coach Jose Manuel ‘Manolo’ Diaz indicated that he will finalise the squad. “At the moment, we are getting to know the players. We now have many players and we are testing them. In the coming weeks, we are going to finalise the squad,”
SC East Bengal has already played three pre-season friendly with Vasco SC, Salgaocar FC and Gokulam Kerala FC which they won by 3-1, 2-0 & 2-1 margin respectively.
Sources informed that the final squad for Indian Super League will have 27 players with 3 goalkeepers, 18 Indian players and 6 foreign players. Hence seven players may be released from the current squad.
It is learned from various sources that SC East Bengal will shift their base in new hotel with these 27 players.
Probable list of players who might be released are Shubha Ghosh, Akashdeep Singh, SarineoFernandes, Asheer Akhtar, SongpuSingsit, Romeo Fernandes and Loken Meitei.
