SC East Bengal held Mumbai City FC to a goalless draw in ISL 2021-22

SC East Bengal held reigning champions Mumbai City FC to a 0-0 draw in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 at the Tilak Maidan Stadium on Friday.

Both teams struggled to create major scoring chances in the first half. Mumbai City FC dominated the possession but found it tough to find spaces behind SC East Bengal’s discipline backline. In the second phase of the match, we saw more determined defending from SC East Bengal as they frustrated Mumbai City FC who could not create meaningful scoring chances.

The result allowed Mumbai City FC to reclaim first place in the points table. However, their winless streak extends to four matches while SC East Bengal are now 10 games without a win.

Mumbai City FC will be up against Bengaluru FC in their next game at the PJN Stadium on Monday whereas SC East Bengal will clash with Jamshedpur FC at the Athletic Stadium on Tuesday.

Sourav Das won the Hero of the Match Award.

In the next match ATK Mohun Bagan take on Odisha FC.
