SC East Bengal will play in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 as the deadlock between Shree Cement and the club finally ended after the intervention from West Bengal Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee.
The announcement was made on Wednesday at Nabanna, West Bengal secretariat building, where the two parties came face-to-face in the presence of Smt. Mamata Banerjee.
Sources informed that Shree Cement representative informed in the meeting that they were always eager to play but due to the differences with club officials the agreement was not signed, however since Chief Minister requested, hence they will do every necessary arrangement to play in Indian Super League (ISL).
With most of the players have been recruited by rest teams, it will be a challenge to form a balance team for ISL 2021-22. Last Season SC East Bengal finished 9th in 11 team competition.
