The tussle between Shree Cement and Club Officials is inviting more problems for SC East Bengal. Indian Football Association (IFA) clearly mentioned that Red & Gold Club may face relegation if they pull out of the Calcutta Football League Premier Division.
With “no clarity” about SC East Bengal’s participation in the 14-team tournament slated to begin in August third week, IFA secretary Joydeep Mukherjee said as per the rulebook the red-and-gold brigade would be relegated to the lower division.
Meanwhile, Shree Cement East Bengal Foundation on Monday has officially sent an email to IFA letting them know that they are keen to participate in CFL but they would be able to commit about the same only after the definitive agreement is signed by the club officials.
Welcoming SC East Bengal to participate in the CFL, the IFA secretary further said they are even ready to negotiate between the two parties to “iron out their differences”.
