Sergio Ramos signs 2-year deal with PSG ending 16 year spell with Real Madrid

Sergio Ramos has signed a two-year contract with French club Paris Saint-Germain, the club announced on Thursday.

The Spanish defender thus brings an end to 16-year spell with Real Madrid where he established himself as one of the finest defenders.

He played a key role in Real Madrid’s success and during his 16 year spell The Whites won 22 national & international trophies. Ramos scored 101 goals in 671 matches with Madrid. He joined Real Madrid from Sevilla in 2005 when he was 19 years old.

His contribution was immense when Spain won FIFA World Cup in 2010 and UEFA Euro Cup in 2008 & 2012.

Paris Saint-Germain has been desperate to win Europe’s biggest trophy. The club has achieved considerable progress on the continent’s biggest stage, reaching the Champions League final last year. It lost in the semifinals to Manchester City this season. Hence passionate with winning the Champions League, they added precious experience to its squad by recruiting Sergio Ramos.
