Ten-man NorthEast United FC defeated Punjab FC 2-1 in Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 on Saturday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
Dinesh Singh was send off in the added time of the first half and the Highlanders played the next 45 minutes with ten man.
Guillermo Fernández in 15’ and Nestor Albiach in 18’ scored the goals for NEUFC while for Punjab FC, Ivan Novoselec in 88’ pulled back one.
Néstor Albiach of NorthEast United FC was adjudged Key Performer of the Match.
NorthEast United FC is at third place with 15 points from 9 matches while Punjab FC is at sixth place with 12 points from 7 matches.
Next, Punjab FC will face Mumbai City FC on November 26 whereas NorthEast United FC will face East Bengal FC on November 29.
