UEFA 2020-21 awards: Chelsea Won 4 Men’s Award & Barcelona Won all Awards in Women’s Section

The much awaited UEFA Award winners were announced in Istanbul, Turkey today. Chelsea dominated the Men’s award while Barcelona won all awards in Women’s Section.

The medical team who saved Denmark player Christian Eriksen’s life at the European Championship 2020 won the 2021 UEFA President’s Award. Denmark captain Simon Kjaer also recieved the award. Eriksen slumped and suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s European Championship opener against Finland on June 12 at Copenhagen, but Kjaer and the medical team were able to revive him on the field owing to their rapid reflexes.

Jorginho also created history by becoming the only player to win UEFA Champions League, UEFA Euro Cup, UEFA Super Cup & UEFA Player of the Year in same year.

President’s Award:

Simon Kjær and the medical team that saved Christian Eriksen’s life are the 2021 UEFA President’s Award winners.

Men’s Award:

Edouard Mendy of Chelsea is UCL Goalkeeper of the Season after recording 9 clean sheets in 12 matches.

Manchester City’s Ruben Dias wins the UEFA Champions League defender of the season award.

Chelsea’s N’Golo Kanté has been named Midfielder of the Season for the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League.

Dortmundˈs Erling Haaland has been named Forward of the Season for the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League. Chelsea’s Thomas TUCHEL won the UEFA Men’s Coach of the Year Award.

Chelsea’s Jorginho won UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award

Women’s Award:

Barcelona’s Sandra Panos wins the UEFA Women’s Goalkeeper of the Season award.

Barcelona, previously PSG’s Irene Parede wins the UEFA Women’s Champions League defender of the season award.

Barcelona’s Alexia Putellas has been named Women’s Midfielder of the Season for the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League.

Barcelona’s Jennifer Hermoso has been named as the Women’s Forward of the Season for the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League.

Barcelona’s Lluís CORTÉS won the UEFA Women’s Coach of the Year Award.

Barcelona’s Alexia PUTELLAS won the UEFA Women’s player of the Year Award.
