West Bengal failed to progress in semifinals of 2024 Sub-Junior Boys’ National Football Championship Tier 1 at Bengaluru. Clubbed with Goa, Uttar Pradesh & Maharashtra in Group D, Bengal finished with six points along with Goa and Maharashtra, but on better goal difference, Goa made into the semi-finals.

West Bengal defeated Uttar Pradesh 12-0 in their first match of Group D. Chand Khatrapal scored five goals (48′, 55′, 70′, 83′, 88′), Anshu Rai scored four (13′, 57′, 74′, 79′). Surya Biswas (26′), Ayan Karan (35′) and Aniket Swar (42′) scored a goal each.

Next West Bengal defeated Maharashtra 5-1. Anshu Rai scored three goals while Aniket Swar and Surya Biswas scored a goal each.

In third match, West Bengal lost to Goa 3-0.

West Bengal is the most successful state to win this tournament. They had won 13 times – 1977 (Jointly with Manipur), 1984 (Jointly with Tamil Nadu), 1988, 1992, 1993, 1997, 1998, 1999-00, 2001-02, 2002-03, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2015-16, while finished Runners-up 7 times – 1986, 1987, 1995, 2000-01, 2004-05, 2005-06, 2009.
