West Bengal finished fourth in Women’s Football at 37th National Games 2023 Goa. West Bengal lost to Haryana 1-0 in Bronze Medal Match.

West Bengal was clubbed with Manipur, Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand in Group A, while in Group B, Odisha, Chandigarh, Haryana and host Goa was placed.

West Bengal defeated Tamil Nadu in opening match. Nest they defeated Manipur 3-0 with Sulanjana Raul in 60′ & 74’and Devneta Roy in injury time scored the goals. In final Group match, West Bengal defeated Jharkhand 3-1. Rimpa, Mousumi & Devneta scored the goals for West Bengal.

In Semi-final, West Bengal lost to Odisha 5-4 on penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time and extra time.

In Bronze Medal match, West Bengal lost to Haryana 1-0.

West Bengal, earlier, had won Silver Medal in 1999 & 2002 while Bronze in 2001, 2007 & 2011.
