West Bengal finished Runners-up in 2025 Dr. Talimeren Ao Junior Girls’ National Football Championship at the RDT Stadium in Anantapur on Sunday. They lost to Manipur 9-0.

For Manipur, Chingkhamayum Redima Devi (8’, 41’, 65’) and Longjam Nira Chanu (29’, 55’, 59’) netted hat-tricks, while Yaiphabi Thokchom (68’, 76’) scored a brace. Mongjam Pusparani Devi (75’) scored one.

Earlier, West Bengal was clubbed with Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha in Group D. They finished on top with seven points. They played a 1-1 draw with Jharkhand. Malita Munda scored the goal for West Bengal while Deepika Kumari scored for Jharkhand. Next West Bengal defeated Odisha 2-1. Malita Munda scored a brace for West Bengal while Anchal Singh pulled back one for Odisha. West Bengal defeated Bihar 4-1 in their final group match. Piu Roy scored a brace while Ankita Das and Malita Munda scored a goal each. For Bihar Anshu Kumari pulled back one.

In semifinal, West Bengal defeated Delhi.

This is the second time that West Bengal finished Runners-up. Earlier 2003-04 they lost to the same opponent. West Bengal won the title in 2011-12 defeating Odisha.

Manipur now won the title for record 12 times.
