West Bengal won the 2025 Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy, Sub Junior Boys’ NFC at Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Football Stadium in Amritsar, Punjab defeating Delhi 3-0 in final.
Shagnik Kundu scored the goals for West Bengal in 12′, 78′ and 90+4′. He was also adjudged Player of the match.
This was the first title for West Bengal since 2015-16, but also, they bagged the Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy for record 14 times.
In Group Stage, West Bengal was clubbed with Karnataka, Assam and Uttar Pradesh in Group C. They won all the matches and progressed to semifinal as Group toppers.
In Group C opener, West Bengal defeated Karnataka 3-0. Abhinava Biswas in 62′, Priyanshu Naskar in 67′ and Shagnik Kundu in 90+6′ scored the goals. Suman Guin was adjudged Player of the match.
In second match, West Bengal defeated Assam 4-0. Shagnik Kundu scored three goals – 25′, 72′ and 75′ while Sidu Soren scored one in 60′. Shagnik Kundu was adjudged Player of the match.
In third match, West Bengal defeated Uttar Pradesh 4-0. Shagnik Kundu in 29′, Bhola Rajwar in 53′, Soel Laskar in 83′ and Priyanshu Naskar in 84′ scored the goals. Aviral Mishra was adjudged Player of the match.
In semifinal, West Bengal defeated Manipur 3-2 at Mount Litera Zee School Ground. Sidu Soren in 28′, Shagnik Kundu in 90+2′ and Bhola Rajwar in 90+5′ scored the goals for West Bengal, while Thingbaijam Sanatomba Singh in 41′ and Naorem Momo Singh in 57′ scored the goals for Manipur. Bhola Rajwar was adjudged Player of the match.
