Bengaluru FC defeated Chennaiyin FC 3-0 in match no.72 of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 in Bambolim on Wednesday. The loss crushed Chennaiyin FC’s hope of going on to the top of league table.
Iman Basafa opened the scoring in 12′ through penalty, while Udanta scored a brace in 42′ and 52′.
Sunil Chhetri was in good touch today as he was directly involved in the first two goals. Eventually, it was a pretty comfortable win for BFC
The win took BFC to sixth place with 17 points while CFC remained fifth with 18 points from 13 matches.
Udanta Singh won the Hero of the Match Award.
In the next match, Odisha FC will take on Hyderabad FC. Meanwhile, SC East Bengal will next play arch rivals ATK Mohun Bagan on January 29, Saturday.
