Bengaluru FC, on Wednesday, announced the signing of East Bengal’s Youth system player Bidyashagar Singh on a three-year deal.
Bidyasagar Singh, joined East Bengal in 2016. He spent his youth career at the East Bengal U18 till 2017. 2016-17 U18 I-League, he scored six goals, including in both semifinals and final. When he was promoted to the senior team he made his mark in the 2019 Durand Cup, scoring twice in a 2-1 win over Bengaluru FC in the group stage.
Last year he joined TARU, from where he started his boyhood to become only the second Indian to pick up the I-League Golden Boot, and in doing so, became only the fourth Indian to finish top scorer of a National League after Bhaichung Bhutia, Raman Vijayan and Sunil Chhetri. He was also named the ‘Hero of the Season’ and found a place in the I-League ‘Team of the Season.’
