Chennaiyin FC came from behind to defeat NorthEast United FC 2-1 in Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium.
Jithin MS in 49’ gave NorthEast United FC the lead, however, Aakash Sangwan in 72’ and Ankit Mukherjee in 90+1’ scored to give Chennaiyin FC important three points and sent NorthEast United FC crashing out of the playoffs race.
Ankit Mukherjee was adjudged Key Performer of the Match.
NorthEast United FC next will play against Odisha FC on April 13 and Chennaiyin FC will face FC Goa on April 14.
