Chennaiyin FC defeated FC Goa 2-1 in Hero ISL, means Playoffs hopes looking dim for FCG

Chennaiyin FC defeated FC Goa 2-1 in Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23 match at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Thursday.

Kwame Karikari scored a brace for Chennaiyin FC in 10′ and 73′ (P). Noah Wail Sadaoui pulled back one for FC Goa in 48′.

The loss means a setback for FC Goa as they will have to rely on others for some results to go their way to qualify for playoff. Meanwhile, the result helped Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters FC qualify for the playoffs.

Kwame Karikari won the Hero of the Match Award.

Next on Friday 17th February, NorthEast United FC will take on Odisha FC.
