West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the East Bengal Museum – ‘Raja Suresh Chandra Chowdhury Memorial Archive’. On this occasion she announced a donation of Rs 50 lakh for East Bengal Club.
Raja Suresh Chandra Chowdhury Memorial Archive is having Videos of famous matches, Jersey and Kits of ex-players, first Shield in 1943, Durand in 1951 to Asean win in 2003 – all the trophies, famous and important books and documents related to East Bengal Club history. There is also the idea of retaining the evolution of the East Bengal jersey design since the 1920s.
This will be something that football lovers in India will experience for first time.
