East Bengal have further strengthened their squad ahead of the upcoming season with the signing of Croatian defender Diego Zivulic on a one-year deal. The 34-year-old becomes the club’s fifth foreign recruit and brings a wealth of experience from Croatian football.
Zivulic has previously represented Croatia at the U-18 and U-19 levels and has played for several clubs in the country’s top flight. His ability to feature both as a centre-back and a central defensive midfielder makes him a versatile addition to Antonio Lopez Habas’ squad.
The 6ft 2in defender is known for his physical presence and defensive experience, qualities that could prove important for East Bengal as they prepare for a challenging domestic and continental campaign.
Zivulic most recently played for NK Rudes during the previous season. With his arrival, East Bengal now have another experienced option in the defensive department as they look to build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts.
His versatility could also provide Habas with greater flexibility in shaping the team, particularly as East Bengal prepare for their AFC Champions League Two campaign.
