In 2005 AFC Cup East Bengal was clubbed with Nebitci Balkanabat in Group A. On 25st May 2005 in home match East Bengal faced Nebitci Balkanabat. East Bengal won the match by 3-2. Jeremiah scored Hat-trick. Turkmenistan were considered as strong football nation than India during that period, hence the win for Red & Gold brigade was considered as an important win in Indian Football.
