India’s U17 men’s team bounced back strongly to defeat Myanmar 4-0 in the second friendly at the StarCity Sports Club in Thanlyin, Myanmar, on Wednesday.
The Blue Colts, who had played out a 1-1 draw in the first friendly, produced a much-improved performance to secure a convincing victory.
Dallalmoun Gangte opened the scoring for India in the 40′, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead at half-time. India doubled their advantage in the 53′ when Myanmar’s Kyi Thar turned the ball into his own net.
Kamgouhao Doungel extended India’s lead in the 60′ before Hrishikesh Charan Manavathi completed the scoring in the 72′, sealing a comprehensive 4-0 victory for the Blue Colts.
The two friendly matches formed part of the preparations for the upcoming AFC U17 Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers.
India will now return home and continue their preparations ahead of the qualifiers, which are scheduled to take place in Malaysia next month.
