The India U17 women’s national team ended their preparations for the AFC U17 Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers on a winning note, defeating the Philippines 2-0 in their second closed-door friendly at the Vagator Football Ground in Anjuna, Goa, on Tuesday, September 29.
Anushka Kumari was the star of the evening, scoring both goals for the Young Tigresses. She opened the scoring in the 26′ by converting a penalty before finding the net again five minutes after the restart in the 50′.
The victory also served as a strong response after India suffered a 2-4 defeat against the Philippines in the first friendly last Saturday.
The match marked India’s fourth and final preparatory game ahead of the AFC U17 Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers. The Young Tigresses will now travel to Kuala Lumpur on October 2, with the qualification campaign scheduled to take place in Malaysia from October 5 to 11.
