ATK Mohun Bagan defeated NorthEast United FC 2-1 in the second leg, second semifinal of Indian Super League (ISL) 2020-21 at Fatorda Stadium. In the first leg both the teams played 1-1 draw. In Aggregate the Mariners won by 3-2.

Tough luck for the Highlanders. They had given their best, but luck was not in their favour. ATK Mohun Bagan showed a dominated performance and took a deserving lead in the first half through David Williams (38’). NorthEast United FC played attacking football from the beginning of second half, but ATK Mohun Bagan doubled their lead in 68’ through Manvir Singh. NorthEast United pulled back one in 74’ through Suhair Vadakkepeedika. The Highlanders had the golden chance to comeback in the match in 81’ when they were awarded Penalty. However, Luis Machado missed the penalty and thus NorthEast United FC’s golden run under interim head coach Khalid Jamil came to an end.

The DHL Winning Pass of the Match Award was won by Roy Krishna while Manvir Singh bagged the Hero of the Match Award.

ATK Mohun Bagan will face Mumbai City FC in final on Saturday, 13th March.
