Lyon won the Women’s Champions League on Saturday defeating defending Champions and favourites Barcelona 3-1 to be crowned queens of Europe for a record-extending eighth time.
Expectation was high among Barca fans as they were present in large numbers on the Allianz Stadium in Turin to watch their favourite team. Barcelona went into the final with only one loss in the entire season. However dominating performance from Lyon brought the downfall of the Spanish team.
For Lyon, Amandine Henry, Ada Hegerberg and Catarina Macario scored the goals while for Barcelona captain Alexia Putellas scored back one.
