SC East Bengal today started their training session under Head Coach Mario Rivera. The team was is quarantine for few days to maintain the protocol of Covid-19 as seven employees of the hotel were tested positive as per sources informed.
SC East Bengal on January 1 announced the appointment of Mario Rivera as their head coach for the remainder of the 2021-22 Indian Super League (ISL) season.
The club parted ways with Jose Manuel Diaz last month and Renedy Singh took over as interim head coach.
Rivera worked with former East Bengal coach Alejandro Menéndez as his deputy for 32 games in 2018-19 season. Rivera took charge for seven games and guided East Bengal to a second-place finish in the I-League 2019-20 season. However, this will be his first taste of management in the Indian Super League.
