East Bengal FC defeated arch rivals Mohun Bagan SG 4-1 to win the Durand Cup for 17th time at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan on Sunday to end 22 year wait.
East Bengal’s Bipin Singh (10’) opened the scoring while Edmund Lalrindika (11’, 22’, 44’) netted a hat-trick. Manvir Singh (33’) scored Mohun Bagan’s lone goal.
East Bengal FC are the reigning Indian Super League champions and have also secured their place in the AFC Champions League Two 2026–27 main stage. They booked their spot after a commanding 4–1 victory over Kuwait’s Al Arabi SC in the preliminary round.
