In 1983 DCM Trophy, East Bengal defeated Sparewood Kolmatinak by 1-0 in semifinal. The match was played on 17th November. The winning goal was scored by Krishna Gopal Choudhury. East Bengal went on to win the tournament by defeating Mohammedan Sporting by 1-0.
