After the 1942 Prestigious Calcutta League Championship, East Bengal won the IFA Shield in 1943. It was a rare achievement for an Indian Club to win the major tournaments with just age of the club is only 20 plus. East Bengal was the first club to achieve this landmark. The Red & Gold Brigade defeated Police AC by 3-0 in final.
