India U17 Women’s Team defeated Lebanon U17 Women’s Team 4-0 to progress to Quarterfinal of AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026 in their final Group B fixture at the Suzhou Taihu Football Sports Centre Pitch 8 on Friday.
For the Young Tigresses, Pritika Barman scored a brace in 7’and 85′, while Alva Devi Senjam in 36′ and Joya in 72′ scored a goal each.
India registered their first win and first goal in the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup since 2005. This is also India’s first-ever qualification to the knockout stage at the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup.
Earlier, in 2018 AFC U16 Men’s Championship and in AFC U19 Women’s Championship 2004, India progressed to quarterfinal.
India will now face host China in quarterfinal on Monday. A win will ensure a spot at FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup 2026.
