The India U20 men’s football team began their two-match friendly series against Singapore on a winning note, securing a convincing 3-0 victory in the first closed-door encounter at the Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru on Monday, August 3, 2026.
Rishi Singh Ningthoukhongjam opened the scoring for the Blue Colts in first-half stoppage time in the 45+2′. India continued to control proceedings after the break, with Singamayum Shami doubling the advantage in the 63′. Visitors conceded an own goal in 83′ to give Blue Colts a comfortable 3-0 victory.
The two sides will meet again on Thursday, August 6, in the second closed-door friendly.
These matches are an important part of India’s preparations for the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers, which will be held in Uzbekistan from August 31 to September 6, 2026.
