East Bengal FC Reserve Team produced a spirited comeback to secure a 3-3 draw against BSS Sporting Club in the Calcutta Football League (CFL) 2026-27 at the East Bengal Ground.
BSS Sporting Club made a flying start, with S. Tiwari opening the scoring in the 5’ to put his side 1-0 ahead.
East Bengal FC responded in the 30’ when B. Murmu found the back of the net to restore parity. However, BSS Sporting Club regained the advantage before half-time as S. Tiwari scored his second goal of the match in the 37’, giving his team a 2-1 lead at the break.
The visitors extended their advantage shortly after the restart. S. Sukuram scored in the 47’ to make it 3-1, leaving East Bengal with a two-goal deficit to overcome.
The Reserve Team, however, refused to surrender. M. Bilal pulled one back in the 62’, reducing the deficit to 3-2 and setting up a tense finish.
East Bengal’s persistence finally paid off deep into stoppage time. M. Maji struck in the 90+1’ to complete the comeback and secure a valuable 3-3 draw for the Red & Gold.
The draw further underlines the impressive form of East Bengal FC’s Reserve Team in the ongoing CFL campaign. Before this encounter, the team had registered convincing victories over George Telegraph SC (3-0), Bidhannagar MSA (5-1), Railway FC (1-0), and Mamoni Pathachakra (5-1).
Despite trailing 1-3 early in the second half, East Bengal’s ability to fight back and rescue a point in stoppage time will provide another boost to the Reserve Team as they continue their CFL 2026-27 campaign.
