The Indian senior women’s football team is expected to face a stern test against Russia during the upcoming international window in October, with Kolkata emerging as a likely host city for the proposed matches.
The Blue Tigresses, currently ranked 69th in the FIFA Women’s World Ranking, could lock horns with a much higher-ranked Russian side, who occupy 27th position in the global standings.
A series against Russia would provide India with valuable exposure against a strong European opponent and an opportunity to measure their progress against one of the world’s higher-ranked teams.
