India U20 men’s team lost to host Uzbekistan 4-0 in their second AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers match at the Do’stlik Stadium in Tashkent on September 3.
Ulugbek Maratov in 29’, Kuvonchbek Abraev in 35′, Shorakhim Shorakhmedov in 67’ and Nurbek Sersenbaev in 90’ scored the goals for hosts.
Despite the loss, India remain second in Group B on the head-to-head criterion, courtesy of their 1-0 victory over Syria in the opening match.
India will next face Bangladesh on September 6. India needs to win the match and if Syria lost to Uzbekistan, then the Blue Colts have a strong chance of qualifying as one of the seven best runners-up across the eight groups.
